PICKAWAY COUNTY PROBATION OFFICER, JUVENILE DIVISION
Primary job duties include, but are not limited to supervise juveniles under the jurisdiction of the Court consisting of: daily monitoring of each child’s case, meeting with child and parent on a regular basis, phone and personal contact, school and home visits, Court Hearings, assisting youth in making positive decision making and finding positive recreational activities, drug screening, tracking the usage of drug screens, keeping good and up to date notes on juvenile’s progress, reviewing school issues and working w/ school teachers and officials, perform interviews and prepare reports, attending various meetings, work with other agencies, perform youth assessments, make referrals to other county agencies for services, mandated reporter for abuse, neglect, and dependency issues, file violations of court orders, keep accurate files, keep up to date with computer skills and usage, make sound decisions regarding incarceration, make recommendations to the court for disposition options, maintain confidentiality of juvenile cases, make sure all are fingerprinted and DNA tested as required by law, transporting juveniles when necessary, remain professional and uphold the duty of the Court at all times.
Prior experience with the court or legal system is a plus. Proficiency in the use of computers and case management software is necessary.
Applicant must successfully pass a background check and drug test. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
